Sometimes the Poster Hunter at Come to Finland come across original posters that are extreme rarities – this right here is one perfect example of that. And better yet, it is now available for you as a reprint! The shipping company Poseidon was founded in the last days of 1898 and then immediately went on and ordered a vessel, which was named Poseidon, from England. In 1899, the Åbo (Turku)-Lübeck route could open, but as early as 1905 the ship was sold and the entire company soon went bankrupt. But we raise a toast for these brave and strong-willed pioneers: they wanted to open Finland to the outside world.

Check out over 200 classic Finnish travel posters and read more about all the great Finnish poster artists in the digital version of our book ”Come to Finland” (found in three different editions; in English, French and German). After enjoying the posters a while we believe you are ready to order the real thing: the printed coffee table book.
