Tita Gestranius

The artist Tita Gestranius (née Grönros) completed her studies in decorative painting at the Institute of Industrial Arts in 1958. For her entire career, she has focused on drawing, painting and handicraft.

The work of Tita Gestranius often features recycled materials and beachcombings, which are given a new lease of life in her artwork. She has also staged puppet shows together with her daughter, Ylva Gestranius-Määttä.

Tita Gestranius’ artwork has been exhibited in, among other places, Helsinki, as well as in the smaller towns of Hanko (Hangö) and Ingå (Inkoo), both located on the southern coast of Finland, west of the capital.
