Wilhelm Hanken

The marine painter Wilhelm Hanken (aka Willy Hanke) painted both large oil paintings and designed posters for companies such as the shipping concerns Norddeutsche Lloyd and Cunard Line. An example of Hanken’s work can be seen in his contributions to the Cunard Line’s centennial yearbook, Ein Jahrhundert Transatlantischer Schiffahrt 1807–1907.
