Axel Bernhard Rossman

The Estonian graphic designer Axel Rossman (aka Roosman / Rosman) studied lithography in Riga and continued his studies from 1914 until 1918 in St Petersburg, where he also worked as a graphic designer in the advertising industry.

During the Estonian War of Independence, Rossman worked as a cartographer and in 1922 studied at the State Industrial Arts School in Tallinn. His early production includes posters and other graphic art work. During World War II, Rossman fled to Germany and in 1948 moved to Sweden. He moved to Toronto in 1966.
