The artist presents himself:
I’m a freelance graphic designer from Tampere and my Active Pen never stops drawing. I received the foundation for my career while studying graphic design at the University of Lapland, but after that I’ve gathered experience especially as an illustrationist. So during the last years my desk has filled up with winding piles of colorful illustrations for magazines and other scribblings. Apart from traditional illustrations for magazines I’ve also had the chance to extend my creative territory beyond the tight format of paper: I’ve also designed board games and large wall art works.
My style has been developed to become a mix of genuine work of the hand, crazy colors and the modern digital world. In my works I usually use clear graphic forms, but I prefer to break the lines with splashy splashes. The aim with my art is to offer the joy of insights: in my illustrations you might discover a piece of nationalromantic landscapes, nostalgic retro objects or even a well known animal. By using recognition I can provide deeper levels of storytelling.
